Installation: I installed my own blinds!
The shades are wonderful and look good. I wish they were a bit longer as the stiffness of the blackout material doesn't allow them to close completely without finagling with them a bit, but it's not bad. When installing, we had to move the top brackets toward the middle more because the end caps on the shades got in the way of attaching the shades to the brackets. Other than that, installation was pretty simple and easy to do. The blackouts are definitely that - your room will be completely black, so make sure that's what you want! We chose top down, bottom up so we could let in light and still enjoy privacy.

Works well. Looks nice. Complete blackout except for a thin outline around all the edges. The top and bottom need some foam or something to conform to uneven surfaces. Next time I would order 1/4 inch wide to reduce the light leak between the shade and the rails. The plastic rails could be trimmed a bit if the shade came in too wide.

Installation: I installed my own blinds!
This product shipped a while after the translucent blinds. The bottom of this blind was missing the felt or weather stripping at the bottom so I had to go and find some to get this installed for my customer. Not that happy with the sides that came with they were very translucent and I painted them to make it a Blackout installation. The one I bought in the past were good though. I didn't have time to wait any longer for repairs or replacement.

Installation: I installed my own blinds!
Blinds Chalet was the only place I could find the blackout cell shades with tracks in the color I wanted. The price was excellent although had some trouble getting the discount on line. Order status or expected delivery date would have been helpful as after 7-10 days, I had to call to find out the status only to find out that the delivery was going to happen when I was away. Customer Service was fabulous in resolving this issue and then keeping me informed.
The quality and installation were similar to other cellular shades I have installed. Some improvements to the shade construction/customer satisfaction would be a better string quality and design. I had the bottom up/top down and the strings are too flimsy and routinely twist with each other. The strings and tracks should come in the same color as the shade as the standard option or at least as an upgrade. I had an inside mount and when you attached the metal holding brackets to the top/inside, it makes it difficult to clip in the shades. I have added small washes to other installations to give some clearance and makes clipping in blinds much easier.
With the said, the blinds look good and perform the task of keeping out the light as they were installed in a home theater room.
Thank you.

So far, so good.

So far, so good. However, the light still leaks along the edges. The strip on each side does help, but 1) they are opaque; and 2) the light sneaks around it.
Otherwise I like it.
